Unable to install macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Update

I am on 10.13.2 and i tried to install the 10.13.3 update via the normal and combo packages. Both the times the installer warns me about the same issue of APS Fusion Beta (please see the attached screenshot).

My disk uses APFS and 10.13.2 was installed using a full 10.13.2 installer.

The following command produces "No updates are available." and the App store does not show the update as well.

sudo softwareupdate -ia

Here's the output from diskutil list

Hi,

I'm have the same issue in t lat 2017 27" iMac, its stuck on macOS 10.13.2 (17C88)

I've tried installing the update in Save Mode"

trying a full install for the App Store

and

Via the recovery mode.

Via the App store my mac reboots an starts to install the progress bar move about 10-15% before the screen goes black. It then starts as normal but when i check the version it's still on macOS 10.13.2 (17C88)

When i tried the recovery mode the install failed with an error message stating this. Again the mac will restart and is still on 10.13.2.

Any ideas how to fix this!!

The automatic upgrade to MacOS 10.13.3 got stuck. I got 3 attached screens. I tried to restart in safe mode, no success. Then from my Time Machine backup holding down the option key. No success. Then after about an hour my MacBook Pro 13" 2015 started up all by itself (miracles happen?). The MacOS is still 10.13.2 (17C205). After 50 minutes "preparing" my Time Machine finally started a new backup. In the Apple Store app on my Mac I get the message there are no upgrades available. When I go directly to the website of apple store, 10.13.3 is there, but it won't upload on my Mac.

Now what?

I have exactly same issue on a Mac Pro 5,1

My High Sierra installation was a clean 10.3.2 (17C2120) early January. The update is not available from the App Store, Apple is probably holding it back due to this BUG that they have to resolve before 17C2120 can be updated to 10.13.3.

Let me know if you find out anything, we will probably see a valid update from the App Store soon, hopefully.

Hi,

Apparently you were right about the build as well. 17C2120 was a macOS 10.13.2 build for the new iMac Pro, i am still not sure how was my Mac able to install it from the App store.

Anyways, I just ran the new 10.13.3 full installer from 10.13.2 desktop and after a while it was all ok.

Now i get the proper build number as 10.13.3 (17D47).

Thank You!

Problem solved. I downloaded the MacOS 10.13.3 upgrade from the App Store site and upgraded manually. It worked, though it took about 35 minutes to restart.

My problem earlier on was clearly when my MacBook Pro did the automatic download via the App Store app and got stuck installing halfway. With many trails & errors I managed to startup my Mac after restart with ALT pressed. I then chose the disk (not the installer) and it started up on the old MacOS 10.13.2. This made it possible to use my Mac and go to the App Store website.

I am glad I ignored the screen telling me I have a serious problem and should bring it in for repairs, which means, where I live, losing my Mac for several weeks after they send it to Ireland. And that in a country where many Apple parts were invented ;-) IT IS ABOUT TIME APPLE OPENS A REAL APP STORE HERE IN ISRAEL.

Brand new out of the box iMac Pro,10 Core, 32G RAM, 16G VRAM, 1TB SSD, MacOS 10.13.2. Logged into iCloud, so basic email, messages, etc. NO additional software installed... going to do clean install of everything, if the stoopid update will ever run.

- Tried App Store Update, Update Error 600

- Downloaded 10.13.3 Update for iMac Pro, gets stuck on "Preparing...", never asks for restart after 45 min, Checked the Activity Monitor barely using any CPU or Memory but not showing hung, tried 2x.

- Tried the - trash, hold down keys, reboot process by Gazzzar nothing special happens'

- SO ANNOYING, new computer and have gotten nowhere, I'm certainly not going to allot of trouble to set the thing up until I can do something as simple as an update on a totally clean machine.

Yes... me too... and on a BRAND NEW MACHINE. Only difference, I didn't get the option to simply have it restart back to 10.13.2. I had to ERASE my Hard Drive, and reinstall from my Time Machine record from an hour earlier.

Why is 'brand new machine' in all caps, you ask? Well, I had to buy a brand new iMac, as after I installed High Sierra on my previous iMac, which by the way worked so incredibly well, it constantly shut down. At first, it was once a day... then it was several times a day... finally, it wouldn't stay lit long enough to even start it in recovery mode.

Why didn't you take your machine to Apple to have them diagnose the problem, you ask? Well, I tried, but there was not ONE OPEN APPOINTMENT with the Genius Bar for 2 weeks... and I needed a computer sooner that that.

I'm sorry, I don't meant to rant... BUT I'm becoming increasingly displeased with Apple as of late. Will I try to install the 10.13.3 update again. NOPE... can't afford yet another new computer !!!

UPDATE:

I just tried a second time and now all is fine: my iMac if finally with 10.13.3

Here is my suspicion:

— The first time a clicked on the “Update all” in my App Store / Updates section, the process started with an IMMEDIATE restart. And then all the typical upgrade black screens & auto-restarts. But i finally ended with the same 10.13.2 sytem (and the same “Update Available” option in the App Store

The second time was different: I saw first a download process (a few minutes) and then, yest, the automatic restart and update process.

This second process ended with a white screen where Apple answer to accept to share analytics and that stuff (I always press “Yes”). The first time I didn’t saw that.

My suspiction: since the first time the machine restarted immediately, I suposse that, maybe, the upgrade packaged was already downloaded in my machine since some days ago (I prefer to waith some days to upgrade). And, maybe, that first package contained some “bad” part (just guessing here, of course…).

The second try started with a download of a “fresh” updater, which, maybe Apple has fixed on a later time?

Obviously, I have no idea about what was really behing that first fail… Anyway I’m happy that my computer is finally updated :-)

Took most of a day but eventually managed to re-install macOS via the full internet download. In between lots of failed and hung installation attempts. Now on 13.3.3 but my iMac is running so slow that it is almost unusable. A bit better after I had let iTunes check its library (took all night) but even then single applications running are extremely slow. What now?
