magnetic charger keep change magnetic field direction

Hi,

I bought the apple watch 3 couple of weeks ago, and charge it everyday with the genuine magnetic charger within the package.

However, I noticed that the direction of the charger seems flipping everyday.

The first time I charged the watch, the back of the watch was contacted with the curved side of the charger when aligned, which seems correct.

But sometimes when I charged it, I have to use the back side (flat side) to contact with the back of the watch to get the proper alignment, i.e. the charger attracts the watch, instead of repelling it.

From the observation, the magnetic field direction (or magnet polarity) reverses every day. Within the same day, no matter how many times I attach or detach the watch from the charger, the polarity seems remaining.

May I know whether this is a normal situation, i.e. the charger is designed to be like this, or it is something wrong?

Thanks.

Hi

Apple Watch should only be charged by connecting it with the curved side of the head of the Magnetic Charging Cable.

It may help to check that you are following all of the instructions here, including checking for any remaining plastic wrapping on the head of the charging cable (look closely):

Both Apple Watch and included power accessories are covered under Apple's Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship (but not against accidental damage or misuse).

If the issue persists, then I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider with a view to having them checked and, if necessary, replaced under warranty:
