Contact eBay for a refund. There is nothing anyone here can do to help, and Apple will not get involved with any private party sale or exchange of used personal property. Most likely, the seller did not have legal ownership to begin with, which is why it was not using their AppleID.

No one, not EVEN APPLE, will help you defeat Activation Lock. This is an ANTI-THEFT and personal information protection feature.

As you have discovered, you have purchased an iPad that was never checked for Activation Lock or if it was from a legitimate owner OR WAS, in fact, a stolen iPad being sold.

So, what have we learned from all of this?

Never purchased any type of mobile electronics, ESPECIALLY MOBILE ELECTRONIC DEVICES FROM APPLE, second hand from a second hand store!

ONLY purchase Apple products from Apple OR Apple authorised/certified resellers of Apple Products!

Since you won’t go back to the second hand store you purchased this from to get your money back, I hope you didn’t spend too much for your useless, second hand iPad.

we are talking about Ipads.

If you know something about it you should know about find my device services.

If I want my device back the best option is telling Apple were is my device. you can see it as soon as somebody turn it on. if it was stolen you can call the police or tell apple to call or delete all your information.

but if you are like me. you should call apple and ask information about your ipad. My Ipad was not stolen.

The previous owner donate it to a seconds hand store.

Apple know who is this person, but they are so stupid to share my contact or advice he/she to remove this device from icloud.

if The for motor company put a gps in your car of course they must telling you where is your car.

Just because you don't like the answer, that doesn't make it any less true.

How about you go back to the second hand store and get in THEIR face about selling you a useless device? That would make more sense than arguing with us about what you think Apple should do even though you have not bothered to read Apple's terms and conditions that go along with the sale of new devices.

i don't want to know who is the previous owner.

I share all my information with apple to tell the previous owner where is this ipad and also to advice this person to remove for icloud or contact me to send the ipad back.

I try to be a god guy, i try to do everything legally.

this law does not make sense

I no longer have any sympathy for you. Originally, we were trying to provide information for you that would be helpful in explaining your situation. However, as a "computer technician", it's clear that you already knew all of this.

That said, I'd recommend that the next time you go buy second-hand electronics, you do the proper due diligence so that we don't have to waste our time listening to you complain that you forgot to check out the iPad before you bought it.

Have a nice day.
