Is Find & Replace possible with LaTeX?

Hi there,

I have a Pages document with lots of equations written in LaTex in it. I used the \simeq command in many of the equations in this document but now want to change all of the "\simeq"s to \approx.

Is there an easier way to do this than going into every equation with a \simeq in it and replacing the "simeq"s with "approx" manually? Thank you.

Alper

P.S. I am using Pages 6.3.1 on macOS High Sierra (v10.13.2).

Pages v6.3.1 only understands (some) LaTeX syntax — and only if it is entered into the application's equation editor, which in turn, converts the LaTeX equation into MathML, which is represented in the equation document object.

Find/Replace cannot access the equation container, leaving you to laboriously change those \simeq to \approx replacements by double-clicking each equation, and manually changing the LaTeX syntax.

A great TeX/LaTeX resource is the TeX Stack Exchange site, though that won't help with the current corner you are in.
