iPad2 runs very slowly why?

Its old. I have one and your average iPad 2 is going on....7 - 8 years old? THat’s positively ancient in technology terms. YOu can try to close unneeded apps by double tapping the home button and flicking the preview off the screen to force close them. THen single tap the home button to exit that mode.

You have probably found that some apps and games do not run well on the 2nd gen iPad. THat’s just how it is. The games require more RAM and processing power than the iPad has.

Right now I consider mine good for not much more than checking email and occasionally surfing.

My experience with my iPad 2 is very different from Skydiver's.

My iPad 2 runs pretty well on iOS 9.3.5.

Make sure your iPad maintains, at least, a minimum of 3 GBs of free data storage space.
