icloud sync on samsung galaxy s8 android

I am trying to sync my icloud (nee .me, nee .mac) account between my ipad, work iPhone and Galaxy s8.

obviously this works fine on the iPad.

On my s8 I've installed Samsung Focus, smoothsync for CalDav and smoothsync for CardDav.

"Samsung Focus" ostensibly covers eMail, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Memos. I'd be also willing to try a single 3rd party android app or even 1 to 5 separate 3rd party apps to solve this.

- Email seems to sync okay. it downloads fresh email and i can send a new email to my work address, which appears.

- Contacts seem to sync only some (119/970) of my contacts.. According to icloud.com I have 970 contacts. according to "Samsung Focus" I only have about 119 contacts. The most importatnt, my Girlfriend's for example didnt sync so I got into some hot water when i couldnt call her cause i havent memorized her phone number 😕

-Calendar seems to sync alright, but that is only working because of the "smoothsync for CalDAV" crutch.

- It seems to be ignoring the native functionality of Samsung Focus to sync Calendars. Independently the app promts me to "set up Calendar". in that "wizzard" it asks me for my caldav server. I have tried caldav.icloud.com, p24-caldav.icloud.com, p01-caldav.icloud.com, p06-caldav.icloud.com, p01-calendarws.icloud.com and p24-calendarws.icloud.com. judging from the email link that is generated when i make the calendar public on icloud.com, it should be p24.something.icloud.com...

- Tasks in Samsung Focus do not sync at all. Smoothsync for CalDev asks me to tick all my 15 or so lists though to sync, so it sees it and ignores it.

-Tasks do sync in the Tasks app which has mysteriously appeared on my s8 now, just not in the "Samsung Focus" app.

- Memos / Notes do not sync at all.

please help me get icloud working and syncing on my Samsung Galaxy s8 Android mobile phone
