Can't open book purchased in iBooks

I signed into my Apple account and purchased a book which downloaded to iBooks. It shows in my Library but I can't open it. I get a message that says the current Apple ID I'm using is different from the one used to purchase the book. I tried to open immediately after purchasing so I don't know how I could be using a different Apple ID because I only have one Apply ID.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)
