Adding Apple Cinema display to iMac Pro

I have a 30" and 21" Apple cinema displays that are still great screens and would like to use one of them as the second screen to our new iMac Pro 2017. I have purchased and applied the USBC to mini adaptor between each of these monitors to the iMac Pro and disappointingly neither are working. I have called Apple and they seem grey about the answer saying some have had success connecting but Apple state it's not likely to work.

Has anyone had success in adding a cinema display to the iMac Pro? Can it be done?

thanks Alex - Turns out you are right from my extensive research and discussions with Apple - iMacs and Cinema Displays don't talk to each other. I have had to get a new monitor which oddly enough still have the old VGA adaptors that the Cinema Displays do - connected via HDMI.

Perhaps a different topic but advice for those connecting via HDMI to an iMac Pro - make sure that you use a HDMI to USB C cable only - to not use a converting adaptor between otherwise it won't work.
