Smart Battery Case feels sticky/rubbery

I bought a black Smart battery case for my 6s in October, it is functioning properly but doesn’t have that “soft touch” feeling. Instead it feels more like sticky/oily/rubbery and I’m wondering if there’s a way to return it to its original state.

iPhone 7 smart battery case Let me be specific, I bought this Apple iPhone 7 smart battery case (yes an Apple product) that was listed on eBay as does not work with the hopes that it could be repaired either through Apple or someone else. Description says: “port does not work, will not charge” or something like that. My question is if it is a software problem can it be repaired?? Is the smart battery case covered by AppleCare+? I have an iPhone 11 Pro, a smart battery case, and AppleCare+. It's understandable that the smart battery case battery would lose capacity over time, but the connection has also become loose, the finish is peeling, and the battery does not always charge when plugged in. I would like to replace the case. Is the smart battery case covered by AppleCare+? If not, will it be offered for sale again? I know it's a few generations behind the latest and greatest iPhone model, but the smart battery case for the 11 Pro has been unavailable in the Apple Store for a while.

If it,s from Apple store call in or buy a new case plenty on EBAY /Amazon
