Upgrading in iPhone Upgrade Program

If I pay the first twelve months of my contract, and turn in my iPhone, am I obligated to upgrade, or can I choose to not take the upgrade and end my obligation to Apple. (Essentially a buyout after 12 months with the trade in).

Thanks!

You would be responsible for the remaining 12 payments on your loan and you would get "trade-in value" for your phone. Currently the maximum value for an iPhone 7 Plus is $335 for a trade-in. Also, with a trade-in you get an Apple gift card and not cash. If you want to get the most value then it would be the best to sell it to a third party and use the cash to pay off the rest of your loan.
