How should I clean my keyboard?

I recently used a wet towel to clean my keyboard. A friend got me worried sick when he told me it might damage it. The water was less than a millimeter thick and I cleaned it off within 5 seconds. Anything to worry about and should I continue this practice? Any other strategies to clean it effectively?

How to Thoroughly Clean - Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad Hello Mac Geniuses! So my cat vomited on my Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad. I quickly cleaned it off with multiple dry paper towels, got all the debris off, and it seems to be working fine. I'm afraid to get the keyboard wet at all, even though cleaning directions indicate using a "slightly damp" cloth. I watched a video on how to remove keys from the keyboard, but I don't really want to do that. Do you have any recommendations/suggestions on cleaning (or not cleaning) the keyboard any further? I'm a little paranoid because I ruined an old wireless keyboard (from my 2012 27" iMac) by simply spilling water on it. Thanks!
