How do I log into my old Apple ID without access to my old phone ?

I had an iPhone five which was logged into my Apple ID, however, when I came to log into it on my new iPhone seven it asks for a two-factor authentication number. I came to the Apple website and I was told to try other methods and that I would be sent a message in 24 hours. I have now been waiting 3 days and I’ve had nothing. Can anyone help?
