Edit texts

Is there a way to underline, bold, & italicize text in text messages?
I have an iPhone 8 and running version 11.0.3. When I highlight text I get options to copy, paste, cut, replace, look up and share only.

Difficulty editing a message in messages. I can edit text easily in Pages, Notes, etc. but when I attempt to Edit a message the cursor moves to the wrong line or the text is highlighted and I can't undo that , etc. Seems to have occurred with iOS Version 12. It's really bad now in iOS 15. It happens on my iPhone 8 and my partner's newer iPhone SE (2nd Generation). Any suggestions?

No.

Text messaging as a protocol does not have the ability to encode font style changes.
