Apple Pay not recognising near reader

Hi, my Apple Pay has worked like a dream on my 6S+ for over a year now. But all of a sudden it’s stopped working. When held near the reader it doesn’t recognise it and just keeps saying “hold best reader to pay”. First noticed it wasn’t automatically picking up that is was next to the reader when locked, so I opened the wallet and still no luck.

Tried updating software, hard reboot and deleting and reinstalling the card. Is it likely to be a hardware issue?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

If the issue persists, then I suggest that you contact Apple Support (remote diagnostics and/or mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider to arrange for your iPhone to be checked and, if required, serviced:

was it resolved? i also have this problem. it was working perfectly fine previously. And i think this problem happened right after i upgraded to the latest iOS version 11.2.5.
