When attempting reset, no amber light flashes, only white.

Lay answer here so you have proberbly already solved it, but I’m here to help people that come here later.
I had the EXACT same problem, but I solved it by letting the case die then charge it back up. This made it so the left one could be detected witch made me able to reset the case!
Your steps worked for me. It's off because both Airpods were showing full charge before I cleaned the contacts. Recharging now and hoping that the left mic was not working for this reason.

Mine don’t flash Amber or White at all. I push the setup button and all it does is show up blue and red, it’s battery life never pops up, I’ve never seen mine amber or white

I followed your steps exactly. In step 6, when I hold the button , I see only white light flashing instead the amber. Tried everything. It won’t work. Any help is appreciated . Thanks !!!

I’ve removed the airpod and inserted it around 200 times now, no solution. I cleaned it and it just doesn’t want to work😕
Did slamming it against a table actually work? Because I am facing the exact same issue. Wouldn't slamming it against a table break the airpod?
