Trackpad Gestures not working on 2017 MacBook Pro/High Sierra

Trackpad gestures are not working on my 2017 MacBook Pro. I am running High Sierra 10.13.3.

However, trackpad gestures are working fine on my 2012 MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.3.

I have ticked and unticked all the boxes under Accessibility for trackpad and for gestures under Trackpad in Settings. I was much happier when I could swipe to access Parallels .... not happy now!

No I can't - I'm just a regular user. Maybe someone from Apple will read it and have this option.

Some settings are stored in NVRAM. I'm not sure if trackpad settings are among them, but it won't hurt to give this a try:

When you say the trackpad has stopped swiping to the left recently, does that mean other gestures are working? Is it the three-finger swipe (to switch between spaces) that isn't working?

Just a thought: Did you perform a Time Machine backup of the 2012 machine and restore it onto the 2017 model? Maybe there is something leftover from the previous MacBook Pro that the new one doesn't like.

I would have suspected a preference file, but it seems the trackpad settings are user-specific (i.e. they're stored in ~/Library/Preferences, not /Library/Preferences), so creating a new user would have solved it for the new user. You could try deleting the corresponding plist file anyway: Go to Finder > "Go" menu > Go to Folder... > ~/Library/Preferences. Then drag com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist to the trash, empty trash and reboot.
