2010 Mac Book Pro Graphics Issue

I have a 15" 2010 Mac Book Pro running High Sierra OS 10.13.2 that crashes frequently...almost to the point of not being able to use it at all. User uploaded file

I know this is a common problem with that year and model. Looks like the fixes are old. Any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

The problem is due to the discrete GPU failing. Download gfxCardStatus 2.3 and use it to disable the discrete GPU. This is a temporary workaround until you get your motherboard or the computer replaced. There is no remedy or fix any longer. That program expired long ago.

The above link will not work under Sierra in which case you should try using gfxCardStatus.app.zip.
