USB Wireless Mouse (MacOS 10.11.6) suddenly not working, but worked just hours ago, rebooting does not solve problem, mouse works on iMacs. This is MacBook Pro 17" 2009

Apple Mouse and keyboard connectivity with 10.15.6 My iMac suddenly stared having major disconnection problems with Apple mouse 2 and apple wireless keyboard with 10.15.6. Any insights? My wireless hub is located 10' away from the Mac.
