Iphone 7 is only using left headphone side

Question

Iphone 7 is only using left headphone side

So we all know that the IPhone 7 does not have a headphone jack, so I use the regular Apple earbuds connected to the converter that came with the phone. First the sound was ok but like 5 seconds into the sound playing suddenly the right earbud is not playing any sound at all. I have tried a second pair of headphones but the sound is still only coming through the left headphone.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. If I'm understanding your issue, when headphones are connected to your iPhone 7 using the 3.5mm-to-Lightning adapter, sound only comes out of the left EarPod. You were even able to duplicate this with a second set of headphones. I'm happy to help!

First, check to see if the EarPods with the Lightning plug that came with your iPhone 7 have the same issue. If not, the issue might be with the adapter, and if possible, you should test with another one.

Second, see if the audio balance has been changed on your iPhone:

Adjust the balance. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility, then drag the Left Right Stereo Balance slider.

If the Lightning EarPods also have the same issue with the Left EarPod being the only to play audio, you should reach out to Apple Support directly. You can do that here: Contact Apple Support .
