NO Alerts/vibration from Android Text Messages

I have an updated (ios 11.2.5) iPhone 6. I've recently narrowed it down that I'm not getting text alerts/vibration from my Android-users only. (I'm getting all other alerts: email, iMessage, news, etc.) The text message doesn't pop up lighting my locked screen either. If I push the home button, I see it's there.

I've tried everything from restarting, toggling iMessage off/on, notification settings, etc. and searched thread after thread with no luck in fixing my issue. DND is off. Silence mode is off. No Apple Watch, but I do have other Apple devices. Not sure if that matters.

Has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try Settings>Messages>Unknown & Spam>Filter Unknown Senders and make sure it's turned off.

Double check the threads that you aren't getting alerts for to make sure you haven't hidden the alerts for those threads. In the main conversation window, put your finger on the conversation and swipe toward the left. Make sure it says "Hide Alerts". If it says "Show Alerts", tap on it.

I believe I've figured it out just by fooling around with my phone. Although DND is OFF, I've turned on EMERGENCY BYPASS on my Android-friend contacts. I'm now getting alerts/vibration.

Many thanks to those who replied. Hope this helps others.

🙂

Emergency Bypass is only relevant if DND is turned ON. It allows those people to ring through even if you have DND enabled. I believe that something else happened and change that as coincidental. But, however it happened, I'm glad you've got it working.
