Drawing tablet for Motion

I'm looking for the best drawing tablet to use with Motion. I'm starting to get into animation but I need a better/more practical way to use the pen tool and such. I have looked into Wacom tablets, but have heard mixed reviews.

Personally, I'd go Wacom. I've been a Wacom user for almost 20 years and never had a significant problem. If anything I've seen a few driver releases that might have problems, but they are usually quickly fixed or you can go back a version and keep working. I have an older Intuos that works great to this day. I never tried the Bamboo line, so I can't speak to how that works. If you are going to get serious about using a tablet, I would not hesitate to consider Wacom. FWIW, I don't even know who else makes graphics tablets.

If you have an existing iPad, you could check out the free app Astropad which lets you use your iPad as a tablet for drawing with MacOS. The better the iPad product, the better the Astropad app will work. There is also a paid pro version, Astropad Studio' that adds more features and brings the app/iPad combination closer to a prograde drawing tablet. I use the free version with my iPad pro 10.5 for Motion 5 and it works very well, for the limited skills that I have.
