Cox and Apple Email

Recently Cox changed some port numbers and when I tried to make the changes they requested my accounts could no longer be accessed. One of my 4 accounts shows a sguiggly line next to the account name and emails can't be seen in the main mail box window. The other 3 email address do show mail in the mail window but can't be opened and they have the sguiggly lines as well which I know means the account is offline. I checked the settings in Preferences and they are what I was told. I don't know what else to try. Cox doesn't help as they say its Apples problem. Apple can't find the answer either.

Deleting and adding back the account helped. The odd thing was that it required inputting the account back in twice before it would stick. There are incompatibles with Cox and Apple Mail which I wish could get straightened out. Every time a setting is changed with either Cox or Apple, I'm not sure, we have to go through these procedures. I am glad that Apple customer service has the know how to do this whereas Cox Customer Service is unfamiliar with Apple products it seems.

I'm having the same problem with High Sierra 10.13.2. email acting erratically. Some accounts working, but others not. I think I can now send email on all 4 accounts, but only 2 can receive, despite having all the same account settings. Been thru 2 phone calls with Cox so far, the last comment was " I think Apple can help you"....
