Markup & PDF'S & pencil

I need to know how to turn off the new mark up pencil addition. If you have an email with a PDF attachment the new mark up program takes over and the pencil only marks up things it will not let you scroll, you then must use your fingers to scroll. Frustrated

Apple Pencil and Markup Hi, I use my ipad for work and spend a lot of time accessing and marking up PDF documents using the pre installed email app. Does anyone know if it is possible to have markup activate when the apple pencil touches the screen and then deactivate once it leaves the screen? This would save having to keep tapping the pencil icon at the top of the screen every time you want to enter and exit the markup mode. Thanks

iPadOS: pdf in files and Apple Pencil (1) Hello. In the past I used to be able to scroll with my fingers and annotate or highlight with my pencil. Ever since the new markup update, whenever I use the Pencil on my screen, it goes straight into markup mode. Then, when I use my finger, it annotates in stead of scrolling. I have to manually uncheck markup in the upper right corner before I can continue. The ease of scrolling and quickly annotating has been taken away by this change. Am I missing an option or doing something wrong? Or did Apple remove my favourite feature?
