charging wire rubber completely torn. Never seen such thing on any other phone. Anyone else also faced same problem?

Yes, its a wire, they can get damaged. I replaced my OEM cables with braided ones and they are far more resilient.
if the wire is visible in the cable throw it out before you or someone else gets seriously hurt.

I suggest you purchase a new charging cord.......from an approved Apple supplier.
That I have to I guess,, But this one is still working, at times few glitches..
But my point is apple must produce better stuff or must replace such accessories..
such premium series phones of HTC provide wires which never gave problem in 4 years of use.
