iPhone offloaded app which I use almost every day
What’s more confusing, I used this app just few hours before it was offloaded. It’s online bank app. And when I needed to send money to my girlfriend, I suddenly found, that I can’t use app and can’t even load it back, because I need wi-fi, but in the middle of the street there wasn’t and wi-if spots, you know. So bad.
I have this problem also. today (13 April ‘18) and virtually all of my apps were offloaded. Including my banking app that I had used just a few hours earlier. There is no warning for this like a pop up ‘would you like to offload this app’ you just go to use your phone and it’s unusable.
Sure, I’ll turn it off. But it’s half measure and it doesn’t fix the problem.
Is there any way to report about this problem to Apple Support? Cuz it’s obviously not how it’s supposed to work.
And what if someday there wouldn’t be enough free space on my iPhone, should I just hope that this function won’t remove app which I really need?
Its crazy today. This is the first time I'm really disappoint to my iPhone. It unloads my app randomly. Before today it keep unload my files I use every in numbers and iBook. oday it unloads my numbers, note, Gmail etc. those I'm using everyday. The bad thing is I'm not going to have the Wi-Fi today and I need to use those app. Those I hardly to use still sitting in my iPhone. After I reinstall my apps, I'll never turn this stupid function anymore.
I've never heard about an app that was automatically offloaded (unless unused, and the settings was enabled).

I’m experiencing the same issue. I use an app this afternoon. A few hours later the app has been offloaded and I have to find a WiFi hotspot to reload the app. It’s frustrating. It’s happening of a daily basis.

Same thing happening here. What’s more is that I get a notification informing me “Unable to install *app* - Please try again later. And now the best part! The apps that were unable to install were Apple’s own Contacts, Notes & Weather - all of which I use daily. Notes is one of the apps I open the moment I turn my phone on, and it’s always running in the background. Gmail is another such app, so I was very surprised to suddenly be informed I needed to wait for it to download/install. Then I noticed another app was downloading... I hadn’t been in the App Store to update anything... “Well that’s odd.”
After a closer look I see ca. 70% of my apps have been offloaded! Skype, WhatsApp, Spotify, 1Password?! (This really got me ******), Chrome just to name a few. And again... these are apps I use daily. I’d go as far to say, most of the apps that HADN’T suddenly been offloaded, were in fact apps that should have been/were most likely to be soon had things been working properly at Apple.
My username is a polite expression of my true feelings towards Apple these day. This is just the latest addition to an already long & infuriating list of “issues” (both iOS and Mac) - I’ve quite simply had it with Apple now.
I have also been having this issue and it is frustrating. Half of my apps are offloaded and everytime I want to use them I have to wait on them to reinstalled. If im not at home with wifi then im out of luck cuz it just was waiting waiting.

Offload apps is terrible. It routinely offloads my largest most used app BEFORE any other app. The statement that it offloads unused or less used apps is a LIE. I’m sick of trying to use my most used app only to see that with 5 gb of free space available the app I need to use has been offloaded. Because 9 times out of 10 the app WILL NOT redownload without wifi, and 9 times out of 10 i use this app BECAUSE wifi is not available. Apple needs to allow a selective offload setting, something to allow us to set specific apps to NEVER offload, not just the current all on or all off option. It’s a shame, the feature could be beneficial IF it worjed as advertised. As it is, I’m just going to leave it off.
Are you sure that your app's icon wasn't accidentally moved to a different page or hidden into a folder?
Have you tried to search for the app via Spotlight?
Do you have storage space problems on your device?

App’s icon was where it means to be, but under the icon, where app name is, there was little icon of iCloud before the name, and it means that app was offloaded as unused for a long time app.
Not really, 19,4 Gb used out of 32 Gb.
Just happened to me, my last two recently used apps before bedtime were offloaded when I woke up this morning. Most other apps are still there.
This is obviously a major bug that entirely breaks the usefulness of this feature.
Apple Support: this is a software bug, a regression from the previous release. Please respond.
It’s happened more than once to me too. Was using an app this morning. Went to use it again now, and it’s offloaded. Really annoying as it’s a big app too!

Since you have enough storage space on your device, I would disable the automatic removal of unused apps.
