Searching by file type

Searching by file type

I recently changed my Windows 10 PC with a new Windows and iTunes and since then the ability to search on Kind, ie WAVE/AAC has gone missing. Any ideas?

Switch to the Songs view and enable the Kind column. Generally search only works with the values in the visible columns.

Ah, once in Songs I would have simply right-clicked on the column heading area and then enabled Kind from the menu that appeared. Apologies for not providing more detail.

Thanks - this works a treat. But the complete sequence is songs - view - show view options - file - kind. I do not remember having to select file in previous versions of iTunes and to this Bear of Very Small Brain it is not obvious or well explained. But thanks for setting me on the right path
