Motion templates subfolders not showing up

I have Final Cut Pro X and I've been trying to get plugins like transitions and effects but when I go to the motion templates folder, there are no subfolders and I made the subfolders and added the .location extension to all of them and I tried to put the transition files into the subfolder I made but nothing will show up in FCP and I've tried everything to get the actual subfolders to appear. I've been trying to get it to work for 6 hours now and nothing will work. Someone help me get the subfolders to work/show up please

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Hello,

1) First of all control whether you are looking at the correct Motion Templates Folder.

For instance:

User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

Your transitions must go into there (In order too!):

/Users/yourname/Movies/Motion Templates/Transitions/categoryname/effectfolder

If it's ok, then control the extensions again.User uploaded file

2) If there aren't any problems about subfolders. The second step is that you can not put the transition files into the subfolder (You meant the Transitions folder right). There also must be a category name.

So, just create a category folder, and then put the transition files into there.

I hope I helped a bit.

Post a screenshot of your folder hierarchy in the Finder in column view.

Below is one example of how it may look.

Note that "Lichinho" is the name of the category - which will appear in FCP X as a group of related transitions - and Asym Dissolve is the name of the particular transition.

Two common mistakes are: not making a category folder; taking the transition file out of its folder.

The extension is .localized

The structure for transitions is

Motion Templates/Transitions/(category)/(transition folder)

and of course analogous for the other kinds of templates

Motion Templates folder and Transitions folder must be localized

Category folders and the folders of each transition are not to be localized

Each transition must be put there with its entire folder, not just the .motn file

To add the .localized extension do it in the Get Info window not directly in the normal Finder win
