I purchased a used Magic Trackpad 2, found the serial number, but can't find any place that will allow me to use that number to identify when it was produced. Is there such a place?

Yes, I guess your thoughts are revolving around whether the warranty is still valid.
If it is more than 12 months old it will be out of warranty. Then your options are to ask questions here or at an Apple store. Are you not able to contact the seller or do you have the box it was originally supplied in. That could have a date.
I don't know that you can. I can say that the first versions were released end October 2015 so at the most it will be a little over two years old. Do you have a problem with it.
