Bluetooth issues after 10.13.3 update

After this update i'm having Bluetooth issues with all devices i have connected ( Master MX 2s, BeatsX headphones and Sony MDR-XB950BT ).

First everything lags and then they disconnect. My solution is to toggle Bluetooth (which happens every half an hour).

Anyone having the same problems?

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Possible cause: USB 3.0/2.0 devices causes strong interference with the wireless built-in devices. That was my case. My particular solution: a powered usb 3.0 hub wit shielded cable far away the Mac (a tp-link UH700 or similar).

Info about the interference:

Logitech

WIRELESS PRODUCT NOT WORKING PROPERLY WHEN ALSO USING A USB 3.0 DEVICE

Apple Support:

Bluetooth: Unreliable wireless performance may occur when USB 3.0 external devices are close

Why do I have difficulty with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices when USB 3 devices are attached to my computer?

I just bought the brand new mac book pro fully loaded yesterday on Feb 11 , 2018 and straight out of the box and after updates none of my wireless magic keyboard nor mouse were working.

i tried deleting the "com.apple.Bluetooth.plist" after reading the first link or two on google that mentioned the similar solution and then to apply the bluetooth module restart. I did all that good stuff, and had some promising results. My Keyboard and Mouse were working like a fine tuned car and then i jinxed myself.

my connection for my bluetooth devices keep dropping. And top of that, i bought this mac book yesterday only because my **** 2013 15inch fully loaded mac book pro fried (thank you snapshots for saving my life...) and my bluetooth devices were working just FINE on 10.13.2 :/ Apple you gotta fix this issue man! My efficiency is dropping due to you.

I also have this problem with my desktop. It does seem to have started sometime after the update. My issue it is that the Bluetooth connection drops after waking up from sleep mode.

I just got of the phone with an Apple Representative. He had me go though some kind of Bluetooth reset by restarting and holding down four keys. It worked for about a minute, until we hung up the phone, and then it was back to "Bluetooth Unavailable" again. Before he hung up, he sounded very unsure that this procedure would really work. He mentioned a deeper sort of reset, or whatever, which might be necessary if this did not work.

It is a real bummer having to restart the computer all the time to recover the Bluetooth connection.

For me, this whole thing started with the mouse not working after waking up from sleep. The after fiddling around for a while eventually the mouse would reconnect. Then it was the mouse and keyboard losing connection, and then again eventually restoring their connection. Then it became a dropping of the Bluetooth entirely, stating "Bluetooth Unavailable". I went through the fix that involves removing plists. That did not last. Restarting fixes the situation temporarily, but the connection usually drops again even without waking from sleep mode.

It is disappointing that Apple seems to be ignoring these Bluetooth Connection drops comments. This seems to be a big problem for a lot of people, with the question just being asked in different ways. I figure they must be working on it, but it would be nice to hear from them.

Yes, I agree that this problem is more serious because it involves the design of the hardware. I think the disconnection (and the eventual unavailability of bluetooth) is caused by interference from surrounding devices that generates radio frequencies in the 2.4GHz band. Although I have placed the hub apart, I still have some disconnections, but without the BT unavailability. Once this problem has happened since 2008 (according to user reports), I think Apple will not do anything ...

Same here. I don't use bluetooth frequently, so I found this problem just now. Not only all my devices are disconnected, including my airpods, but I cannot turn off the bluetooth now. In the system preference, the button of turning off the bluetooth is always gray.

I removed my airpods from the device list, and my mac successfully discovered them again. However, they still couldn't connect to my mac though. I think this is not a hardware problem, since the bluetooth works somehow (recognizing devices).

Interestingly, it started working from yesterday. I didn't do any update. I was thinking of updating to 10.3.4 Public beta 4, because the issue was irritating me quite a lot. Did a time m/c backup in the night so that I can update confidently, but now I am thinking of waiting for some more time. Will keep you all posted...

Thanks...

I have severe Keyboard & Mouse disconnection problems on macOS 10.13.3 Supplemental Update on a recent 27 in 5K iMac. I've now got to the stage where my Menubar states that Bluetooth is not available. The problem started a week ago before the latest upgrade, and only after I had re-charged my Magic Mouse 2 & Keyboard, with intermittent loss of Keyboard, which while lost, seemed to block any attempt to respond to the Mouse. Plugging the Keyboard into USB via its Lightning cable would given me a working Keyboard, and unplugging it a few minutes later would get it working over Bluetooth, but then the Mouse, if previously working, would disconnect. I tried turning off my 2.4 GHz WiFi, I experimented with aluminium sheets for shielding. Unticking "System Preferences/General/Allow handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices" appeared to cure the problem for 18 hours. I have Energy Saver set to 10 minutes, and then found it was trying to run a screen saver after 20 minutes, so I turned that off. The changes I made, changed its behaviour from not being able to Login after a sleep, to one where I could Login, but as soon as I'd started typing, I'd lose the Keyboard & Mouse. My personal feeling is that it is a software threading bug, & Apple do not know how to fix it, as I've had problems on iMacs since El Capitan. This is the worst I've experienced. When actually working, the signal strength for the Keyboard & Mouse was better than -50 dBm.

Disabling "Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices" has helped a number of people (including me at the moment). System Preferences > General >

You can also try this: https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/reset-mac-bluetooth-module/

Also, remove any other devices near your Mac using the 2.5 WiFi band.

Otherwise, fingers crossed for the MacOS update coming next week.
