I cannot log in to the iMessage on my Macbook Air as well as on my Iphone 5s. It says activation error.

Question

I cannot log in to the iMessage on my Macbook Air as well as on my Iphone 5s. It says activation error.

I tried sending messages via my iPhone but it said "iMesaage needs to be enabled to send this message".

Later when I tried to enable it, it said "waiting for activation" and eventually a popup showed "An error occured during activation.Try again". I tried several times it did not help. I can not send messages via my MacBook air, it asks me to log in but later says "An error occurred during activation.Try again"

I also tried to login into someone else's MacBook air but the issue remained the same.

Whereas when I signed out and eventually signed in to my iCloud there was no issue. The issues occurs

only for messages and facetime

Message activation error

Have someone else attempt to sign in using their Apple ID. If they can successfully sign in and use Messages/FaceTime, it may be your Apple ID.Someone I know had this happen and I was able to sign in usingmy Apple ID. After a call to Apple Support and then being elevated to a tier 2 support person, it turned out it was a problem with their Apple ID. It took the software engineers 3-4 days to fix the problem. When calling Apple, make sure you tell them it is an Apple ID problem so you don't get charged.
