Can't Open Some Word documents

I have the latest version of Word for Mac and High Sierra. I have the latest updates to both.


I am now getting messages for some of my Word documents that won't let me open them.

I am the only use on this computer and I created the documents.


I can't find and answers about what to do.

Thanks for your prompt response.

The document in question is in my DOCUMENTS folder.

It may have been in my DESKTOP folder.

I was cleaning up yesterday and put all the documents, spreadsheets, pdf files, etc. into their proper folders.

It said I didn't have user permissions.

Lately, with certain documents - all of which I created myself - I have often been getting messages (I think from Google) that say password needed. I have been ignoring them. I never received those in the past.
