How to control Siri voice volume on HomePod?

I am loving the HomePod so far - but I am wondering if there is a way to control the volume of Siri's voice. It is very loud in comparison to the music. Thoughts?

To set the volume for Siri's responses use the very specific wording of:

Hey Siri, set your volume to 50%

Or to whatever percentage you want. I've tried setting it down to 1%, but it seems to have a minimum of about 20-25% (though Siri will say that it is set lower). It is a definitely improvement, especially at night when I really don't want her "yelling" at me. I hope this helps!

Try as I might I have found no way to make Siri's volume separate from the music. I've tried changing the volume when Siri is speaking, as well as changing the volume by hand when music is playing. Siri's volume always matches the music (actually, Siri is always *louder* than the music).

This is a problem for me at night, as I will be playing some relatively quiet music and then make the mistake of asking Siri a question - and wince at the impact.

I would really like Siri to be at about half of the loudness of any media I play - and certainly not the other way around.

I had the problem but on the inverse. Siri’s voice was much lower than the music. I could barely hear her. I stopped the music, ask Siri to increase volume to maximum. She said that would really be loud, are you sure? I said yes. Now the voice prompt is high and the music volume is ok as it can be controlled via your phone or the top buttons. Try setting the volume of Siri when the music is not playing. That should solve the problem.

Sometimes I yell at her from the other room, and she still hears me. So sometimes it's nice to have a higher percentage, but most of the time, I agree, setting her volume lower would be nicer. She's super loud compared to average music.

Have you noticed that saying "Hey Siri" makes you forget what you wanted to ask for? I've been tapping the top 50/50 now, because the voice feedback is a little off-putting. Then again, when I'm on the couch and I want her to tell me what the weather's going to be like tomorrow or whatever, that's nice.

The problem with Siri is, she knows how to do so many things, but we don't know what she can and can't do. So we randomly ask her questions, some of which she gets right. Some commands are intuitive while others aren't.

It's interesting to see that some people feel that they can lower Siri's volume separately from the music volume, but in my testing, it actually doesn't work. Perhaps that will be in a future update? We can only hope! 😍

I have to agree. I have tried the "Hey Siri, Turn YOUR. volume down" but all it did was turn the volume down for everything. and then I couldn't hear music when It played. I used the command while the Homepod was not playing music.

Today I have found that I am having to shout at Homepod to get it to respond. Yes it would pick up my voice across the room even if I spoke quietly.
