How to send iMessage as Text message
how do you end an imessage as a text message. I tried holding down the message and no option comes up to send as text message

If the iMessage was 'delivered,' you cannot hold it down and send it as a text message instead (the thinking is that it has already sent so why would you resend it as a text). Anyway, you can turn iMessages OFF on your iPhone from the Settings>Messages menu, but be aware that this will prevent you from receiving or sending ANY iMessages until you turn it back on. Be sure that you have 'Send as SMS' and 'MMS Messaging' turned on so that you CAN send text messages. Check out this support article for a brief overview of the two features.
