Can I pair the HomePod with my MacBook Pro?
You can connect the HomePod to a Mac two ways:
1:
Connect it to iTunes Via iTunes (Airplay Menu) This way you can also connect more then 1 HomePod up to it and play the same song with them is no lag (still in mono mode tho (not stereo)
2:
The second way is via the volume icon the on top bar on the computer and just select the HomePod and a audio output. Tho with the current "Airplay 1" There is a bit of a audio delay (lag) doing it this way since if you would open safari and play youtube videos the sound will lag about a second (or more) and not be in time with the video along with if you pause a video then sound is take a couple of seconds to finally stop. (this should be fixed with Airplay 2)
Or via "System Preferences" > "Sound" > "Output"
Hope this helps and have a great day.

No, but
AirPlay other content to HomePod from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Mac
System requirement
Reboot (power cycle) the HomePod and/or your router. If neither of those help try Reset HomePod - Apple Support.

When pairing the HomePod with the MacBook Pro, the audio delay is annoying. Many WI-FI speakers have this problem. I doubt if Apple could solve this problem via AirPlay 2.
This worked for me in the beginning but now my HomePods have disappeared. Is there a way to pair them again? They have disappeared from the AirPlay menu and Sound Preferences.
