Do alarms still go off if wifi goes down?

I think the question is will an alarm that has been set up go off at the appointed time if Wi-Fi is inactive? I've just tried it and the alarm goes off, but then I can't use Siri to turn it off. Tapping the top will stop it however.

'Still go off'? - it's only been out for 2 days, have you used one or read a review where this aspect is mentioned. I'd imagine an alarm when wi-fi drops could be irritating - my Amazon devices just say there are internet issues when you try to use them.
