Does backing up to icloud overwrite photos with simular name?

Not sure how iCloud or my iPhone 8 Handles Picture Names but here is my scenario.

Using Same Apple ID on 2 phones..

iPhone 7+ with 1000 photos on it. Image_0001.jpg - image_1000.jpg

iPhone 8+ with 1000 Photos on it.. Image_0001.jpg - image_1000.jpg

Questions are:

1) If I backed up the iPhone 7+ last month & deleted all 1000 photos off my iphone to make more room,

Does it start all over again at Image_0001.jpg thus making todays back up overwrite all of last months pictures?

2) What if I have both the iPhone 7+ & the iPhone 8+ Back up to the same iCloud Account (Apple ID), does it overwrite the the 1st image_0001.jpg from the iphone 7 with the second image_0001.jpg from the iphone8?.

3) If I Backed up 1000 photos today, then back back it up automatically and I take a second 1000 tommorow (Totaling 2000 Pictures total) Does it only back up the NEWER Pictures that havent been backed up yet or does it waste room and back up everything all over again...

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated...

Hi stevet21,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand you have some questions about how photos are backed up in iCloud. To clarify, if you back up two different iOS devices to iCloud, each backup is separate and specific to that device, even if they are using the same Apple ID. Files should not overwrite each other, even if they have the same file name. Each backup should also only be incremental; it just backs up what has changed, not the entire thing each time. Note that if you are using iCloud Photo Library, a single common library will be used across all enabled devices and iCloud. Any changes made on one (adding a photo, deleting a photo, etc) will automatically apply to all of them, and photos will *not* be backed up to iCloud in the traditional way.
