Depends on the crack. Most come from accidents and are pretty easy to evaluate as accidental damage. Sometimes there are hairline cracks that are from little defects. Apple does say that a cracked screen as a result of a defect is covered.

However, I doubt that an iPhone 6 is still under warranty. It could have been purchased aftermarket reconditioned which creates a whole new set of problems.
