HomePod stops playing music after an hour or two. The playlist is 8 hours long and I would like to listen to it while I sleep. Thank you!

Greetings! So this month I moved everything from Windows 10 (since windows 3.0) and Android (since 2.1) to an ALL APPLE set up lol. I CANNOT for the life of me figure out why my HomePod stops playing music after an hour or two when the set list is more than 8 hours long. Is there a time out on the HomePod that is putting it to sleep? I have been starting the playlist on my Iphone X. I simply want the HomePod to play music until I tell it to stop playing music. Thank you for any assistance or ideas!

I don't think the HomePod has any kind of time limit on music playback (assuming that your playlist or music library is long enough). Also and unfortunately, if seems like the HomePod has no sleep timer for music playback nor any way to limit playback to a certain length of time, nothing like "Hey Siri, play music for thirty minutes."

However, there have been a good number of reports that the HomePod will not play certain songs and given the latter it would seem possible that whenever the HomePod encounters such a song it will just stop the playback even if you've requested a playlist or music source that contains additional content. So, maybe that is what you are experiencing.

Also, it's certainly possible that there is a bug that just stops playback randomly and you're just seeing that on average each hour or two. It may even be a network error since if the HomePod can't connect to one of Apple's servers it would have no option other than to stop playback.

Hello JandyJoe...that small amount of people is growing:Re: Homepod pausing music

And, the problem is not isolated to streaming from iOS devices. This is happening directly through the HomePod itself...and I have three of them...all of which are pausing randomly and when playing an 8-hour playlist stops after each song! Lydia. the senior advisor I am working with has escalated the problem to engineering. ~William

Yes you are correct Waymen! Thank you for your help! I have a subscription to Apple Music and apparently some of the albums I added to my library (and into my playlist) were removed from Apple Musics catalog. The HomePod didn't know what to do and just stopped. I fixed it by going through each track until the end to get past all the errors. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was getting pretty upset lol. Thank you again 🙂
