my Hitachi XL1000 hard drive stopped working

My hitachi XL1000 hard drive has stopped working, no changes to set up has continued working for the last 4 years, plenty of free space ???

Seagate External HDD stopped working My Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive stopped working. It was in storage for two years. I pulled out to work with an old iPhoto library. I left it plugged into my computer for a few days. Slowly it stopped working. It started taking longer and longer to do things. Then it started crashing my computer. Then after a restart from a crash it simply disappeared. The light is on. It sometimes making spinning noises and it sometimes just hums. It does not show up in DiskUtility. It does how up under System Information. It does work on my other Macbook either. I have tried different cables and different ports. I am attaching a few files so you can see my computer info and where the HHD shows up. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Hard drive issues- shutting down unexpectedly Hello! I've tried internet recovery AND erasing my hard drive to restore it but it won't let me erase it... When I try to move windows around it makes them blurry and also any Netflix or video is slow and choppy. Any ideas?

External Seagate Disk (1T) restarts my macbook everytime I try to use it Hey guys, I have a macbook pro, (early 2015, macOS Catalina version 10.15.7) that restarts everytime I try to use my external seagate 1 Terabyte disk. Everytime I try to browse its content (for example, trying to copy its content to another external disk) after a few minutes, it restarts my computer...it goes totally black for a couple seconds to later display a message that says something like "your computer restarted due to a problem" (it does NOT disconnects due to going asleep, it literally crashes and restarts my laptop). I feel the main issue is the disk as I already tried to use another macbook and did the same thing. any idea what could be going on or what could I do to rescue my data? thanks in advance guys! Marco

Reset the NVRAM per the directions in NVRAM Reset and reset the SMC 2-3 times back to back with all peripherals unplugged per the directions in SMC Reset. Then connect the External Hard Disk and re-test, if that does not work try another USB cable and if that does not work, look in Disk Utility to see if the External Hard Disk can be seen. If not then it's crashed and must be replaced.
