Can’t log into MacBook Air

So, I forgot my password to my MacBook Air and it said I could use my iCloud password to log in. I tried that and it just came up with the message “this account uses an iCloud password to log in. If you need to change the password, use another device to change it at appleid.apple.com.” I’ve actually changed my iCloud password 3 times now to see if that would let me log it but it still will not let me log in. Can someone help?
