I can't sign out of icloud on my Macbook Pro

The pop up says "this mac could not sign in to icloud because of a problem with ...". Then i try to sign out and it says " "Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem"

Then i do so and it asks me to enter my ID. and i do so with the latest password and it says

"an unknown error occurred"

I try to just sign out on the icloud preferences screen behind it and then it thinks for a minute and then says

"Your iCloud account couldn’t be removed at this time."

Please help me.

Hi guido825,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community. I understand that you're unable to remove your iCloud account from your Mac.

It may help to try restarting the Mac in safe mode, then try removing the iCloud account while in safe mode. You can find the steps for safe mode here: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

If you're unable to remove it while in safe mode, see if you're able to remove your device from the iCloud website.

  1. Go to Settings on iCloud.com, then look at the My Devices section.

If you don’t see the My Devices section, your account just has access to iCloud web-only features. To gain access to other iCloud features, set up iCloud on your iOS device or Mac.

  2. In the list of devices, click the one you want to remove.

  3. Click the Delete button User uploaded file next to the device. If you don’t see the Delete button, click Remove Device (below the device’s serial or IMEI number).

iCloud: Manage your devices

Take care.
