Youtube & YoutubeTV Navigation Freeze

With this latest update of both Youtube apps the Navigation freezes when using the (Apple) iOS Remote app. The freezing of Navigation is random and the only way to un fix it is to restart AppleTV. Not sure if the bug is on the iOS app side or on the Youtube apps side ad both the Apple Remote app and the Youtube apps were updated at the same time.

I've tried using the feedback option on the Youtube app but it is limited just to preset feedback statements none of which pertains to letting them know the app's navigation is freezing up.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I committed to a YouTube TV subscription---the app on my Apple TV 4K is HORRIBLE. It is basically unusable--functions sporadically--often requires a reboot of the Apple or a delete and reload of the youtube TV app.

At the point of returning the apple TV and trying a Roku

As it stands now---I'm only using the Apple Tv as a streaming device (using the YOutube TV iphone app to control it)

Don't have a 4K TV or capable AVR for pass through anyway

FYI--I just chatted with a Google help guy who confirmed they have had a lot of reports concerning the freeze ups etc

He said they started in earnest around 2/12. That their engineers are aware and working to fix it

So--it does look like a google issue (as I figured)

He said they'd email once it's fixed

Does the apple TV 4K notify one of app updates (like the Mac and iphone)?

So I punched the Solved button to fast. The problem still exists after deleting both apps and reinstalling them from App Store. With limited testing appears not to have solved bug. it still freezes up.

Can't see how to turn of the Solved switch.

I also find the navigation erratic when using them with the iOS Remote app.

In addition, I don’t like that Yourube has elimitnated the 10 sec forward & reverse buttons from appearing in the iOS Remote app. I’m assuming that was Youtube's doing as they still appear in all other apps on AppleTV.

I had found that yesterday--does help for sure

To shut down the download stream--I just tell the apple TV to "sleep"--which involves going to settings scrolling down etc

By exiting the app--you have to then re activate (go to tv.youtubetv/activate) type in the code etc--a hassle

So I'm doing the sleep function

Is there a better-easier way to stop the data stream (for those of us trying to live within data caps from ATT)?
