will apple send account recovery instructions via text? I need to get back into my iphone ASAP

I don't remember the apple id password to my old email , i only remember the new account that i have linked on it . I did the account recovery so i can make a new password and get back into my phone. It said it would take four days, i waited four days and it did the count down hours to mintues until they send the info..... out of no where it said 24 days and then said 24 hours until its being sent. Does apple send instructions via text to reset a sew password? I have been locked out of my phone for 5 days now!!!! I need to get back into my phone ASAP!!

Yes i use the two factor authentication. They sent a code for it. I was supposed to been able to reset a new password last night but i never receive a a text. I had my sim card in my sister's phone and never received a text. Im currently now still waiting on the count down for the recovery status. It says that I have 9 hours left

Do you use two factor authentication? Recover your Apple ID with two-factor authentication account recovery - Apple Support. If so, they text you when the account is recovered, as long as you have a trusted SMS capable telephone number listed.

If not they would send to your primary or recovery email address. If your old email is not accessible, and you did not set a recovery email, then you’ll have to call them for additional assistance, since the password recovery system can not reach you - If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
