dongle/ilok fragility

so i was thinking about the dongle and how fragile it is...also my ilok.

can you share how you protect these items from damage.
average life expectancy of iloks..dongles..

i don't travel with mine much at all.. but ...man one drop of something on something...i keep these little pieces of plastic mostly out of harms way but I am curious how others deal with protecting these things??

Probably the safest way would be to not use and put it in a lock box.

But if you need to use it, then get a 1-3 foot usb extension cable. I haven't used Logic with a laptop yet, but when I do, I will be using the 1 foot extension cable and some 3M double sided sticky tape to mount the dongle end of the cable to the back of the monitor. That way it's laying against the computer and not jutting out asking to be broken off.
