What is safe to use as a frequent screen cleaner on my cell phone? I've heard Alcohol wipes (lens cleaner wipes, etc.) ruin the screen sensitivity, etc. Is this true?

When Apple make a recommendation it is as much to protect themselves as your product. However, Apple cannot anticipate which skin cream or facial oils you or any of the other millions of ladies around the world may use.
Personally, I would have no hesitation to using lens cleaner wipes; but if you were to do the same, you must understand that if it damaged the screen's sensitivity, it is on your shoulders (and certainly not mine). Just be very gentle with it.
Using a lint free dry or damp cloth does not remove facial oils or make up. This is impractical.
