10.7.5 is pretty old now and increasingly you are going to find that there are websites which don't work, or work improperly, on it. If Google don't allow you to access the standard view it's because it won't work in your browser. You won't be able to update Safari any further: current FireFox and Chrome won't work either. In fact I don't think you are going to be able to find a more modern browser. If your iMac is capable of upgrading your system you may want to consider that. You may be able to install El Capitan, for which you will need this special link:
https://itunes.apple.com/app/os-x-el-capitan/id1147835434?mt=12
This link will only work if you are unable to run High Sierra. It's likely you won't be able to upgrade to Sierra or High Sierra but it depends on the exact version of your Mac.
The requirements for El Capitan are
- iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
- MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
- MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
- Xserve (Early 2009)
- MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
- Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
- Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
The requirements for Sierra and High Sierra are
- MacBook (Late 2009 or newer)
- MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)
- MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
- Mac mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
- iMac (Late 2009 or newer)
- Mac Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)
