Itunes Media Services data ri-poff

Same problem as here: Re: What is 'Media Services' and why is it draining all my data?

I switched from Spotify to Apple with family shared service.

All good until today my annual data allowance is announced as finished.

I look up my list of app data and nothing is apparent until I see "system services" shows 20.1 GB. I press on this and it shows at the top iTunes Media services 12.4gb. This is my entire ANNUAL (!!) roaming data allowance lost inside a month! "R-ip off"? Yes. This is exactly that. Some Apple designer living in a country where they don't "roam" thinks it is "ok" to exclude this massive data drain from the transparent list of apps where one can both SEE and DISABLE the use of data while roaming. The result of this design is that this VERY EXPENSIVE $$$ data use is obscured, even hidden from the average user (me). If this had not been kept secret from me I would not now be faced with zero roaming data (I live on a national frontier) so now I cannot use any of my apps while "roaming" (EVERY DAY) because APPLE destroyed my entire annual data allowance without telling me, by design. THAT is why this is a "ri-p off".

Failing to keep me informed, the absence of transparency and direct reduction of substantial amount of money in my wallet is a total failure to maintain my trust in Apple. I now have to consider disappointing my family and reverting to Spotify; none of us can afford to be tricked in this way, because now the question is how can I have any confidence this will; not happen again when the last time this issue was raised was 2015 (see link above) , some years ago and it persist to this day. If Apple does not intend this to be an issue then they are guilty of stupidity. I even saw one Apple response that said to go find help elsewhere. Really? Yes.

Anyone tries to suggest "user error" will not receive any sympathy from me. I am highly focussed om roaming data managment for obvious reasons living on a frontier.

I require complete and accurate management control over data, especially when roaming, Apple has failed to provide this - twice now in fact.

I will be completing apple feedback with an exact copy of this.

It must be hard if you live on a border region. I had this when I lived in Hastings on O2... Where we lived on the seafront, the signal from France was stronger than the anntena on the top of the hill in Haastings so we kept getting O2 France... at the front of the flat. O2 were very understanding about it and got it sorted. Maybe if you explain to your carrier that roaming might mean that you have two ‘homes’ they will put those together and when you go on holiday to wherever then count THAT as roaming data. Best thing you can do is talk to them. I’m sure this will be a common issue and they should cope with it. Hope that helps. Dave. 👍👍👍
