No sound on Garage Band playback

the meters aren't showing any level at all, though the track is not muted. this is a puzzler.

just for gigglers, try soloing the track (the little headphone icon in the track header), does any level appear?

if that doesn't change anything, what happens if you close this project, choose New from the File Menu, choose "Empty Project" for the template, and then pick the Mic option from the dailogBox that appears (option-click the track's volume fader to bring it up to 0dB).

could you post a screenshot of GB while it's playing something?

nothing obvious from that, but unfortunately you captured it while it wasn't actually playing a sound (the playhead is at a zero-point in the waveform)

open the Controls instead of the EQ, and try to grab another shot while GB is actually playing a sound so we can see the meters...

it also wouldn't hurt to add a shot of GB's prefs opened to the Audio/MIDI tab
