Screen saver not working in 10.13.3

I am running 10.13.3 on a MBP (13", Early 2015). The screen saver will not work. In the screen saver pane, the "Start after:" function is grayed out (stuck at 1 hour). All screen savers can be previewed. After doing some digging online I have also been trying to change the "Require password 1 hour after sleep or screen saver begins" which is also grayed out in the Security & Privacy pane, which also tells me that this option "...is unavailable because it is managed by your system administrator." I have administrative access to this computer. Why am I not able to change the above settings? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
