My AirPods won't connect to my Mac.

My AirPods connect fine to my iPhone, but when I try to connect them to my Mac, (MacBook Pro Retina) it gives me the message, "Couldn't connect to device" every time. I've updated my Mac to High Sierra and tried everything.

I just got mu AirPods today and had the same issue (MacBook Air running High Sierra) after syncing to my iPhone first. I removed it from bluetooth devices list on iPhone using 'Forget this device' and then sync to MacBook. Now they work fine on macBook and iPhone (select AirPods on bluetooth list in iPhone.

Hope this helps.
